Standing in the Gap Day 24- Discipline

Father, your word says “He will die for lack of discipline, led astray by his own great folly.” I don’t want that to happen to (Name). I decree he/she will heed discipline and listen to correction. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. I claim, (Name) will not forget this word of encouragement that addresses us as sons: he/she will not make light of discipline, (Name) will not lose heart when You rebuke him/her, because You Lord, discipline those You love, and punish everyone You accept as a son. I say, (Name) will not grow bitter with discipline, but will learn from it and harvest peace and righteousness. In Jesus name, Amen.

Standing in the Gap Day 23- Hope



As Your children, God, we place our hope in you. I decree (Name) will be strong and take heart because he/she places hope in You not in things of this world. By putting hope in You, (Name) will renew his/her strength, he/she will soar on wings like eagles; will run and not grow weary, will walk and not be faint. God of hope, thank you for filling (Name) with all joy and peace as he/she trusts in You. I pray his/her hope would overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit and spread to everyone around him/her. I declare (Name)s hope will rest on the promise of eternal life, it will not be swayed or drained by the circumstances of this world. Thank you, Father, for sending Your Son Jesus, that we may look forward to eternity with You. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for Your amazing, saving grace. For it is by grace we are saved, through faith it is not from anything we do, it is a precious gift from You. Your Word says because of faith, sins are forgiven. Because of faith we are Your children. I declare today (Name) will have abundant, mountain moving faith. I say he/she will be active in sharing his/her faith, and will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ. (Name) will be sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. In addition to all this, (Name) will take up the shield of faith, and extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one just the way that Jesus did. I praise you God for Your goodness, Your mercy and Your perfect gifts. Amen.

Lord thank you for Your Word that directs us in the way we should go and teaches us the way we should live. I say no matter what (Name) is doing he/she will have the same attitude as Christ Jesus. I declare she/he will think about whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy these are the things (Name) will focus on. I decree that (Name) will work with all his/her heart and a good attitude, as working for You, not for men. Thank you Lord for the inheritance you have promised (Name) as a reward for a right attitude. In Jesus Name, Amen.

God Your Word is precious to me and it says even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right. Regardless of age (Name) will set an example for others in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. I decree (Name) will be known by his/her actions and by his/her faith in You. (Name) will make good decisions and will not cause anyone to stumble. In everything, (Name) will set an example by doing what is good, he/she will live so others will see his/her good deeds. To this (Name) was called, because Christ suffered for him/her, leaving an example, that he/she should follow in his steps. Amen.

Father God, thank you for giving so abundantly to us. I cannot thank you enough for the gifts of Salvation, Your love and my loved ones. I declare, (Name) will be a cheerful giver. Your Word says “whoever sows generously will also reap generously”. I say, (Name) will give time, talent and tithes abundantly. His/her motivation to give, is to bring You glory, not to receive honors from man. I decree, (Name) will desire treasure in heaven above treasure on earth. He/she will look not only to his/her own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Name) will remember, the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’. Standing in the Gap Day 17- Self-Control





But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. God thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit. By acknowledging Jesus as his/her savior, (Name) has the ability to live by the Spirit and bear the fruit of self-control. I declare he/she will make every effort to be faithful, good, knowledgeable, self-controlled, to persevere in godliness, kindness and brotherly love. All of these qualities will keep him/her from being ineffective and unproductive. In the name of Jesus, I say, (Name) will be self-controlled and alert. Standing in the Gap Day 15- Purity



It is God’s will that we should be sanctified: that we should avoid sexual immorality. Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, therefore I declare (Name) will honor God with his/her body and flee from sexual immorality. It is common to be tempted, but I decree, (Name) will stand firm against temptation and will not fall! Thank you God for your faithfulness; I know you will not let (Name) be tempted beyond what he/she can bear. But when (Name) is tempted, I say he/she will clearly see the way out that You have provided and will take that path. I say, (Name) will live by the Spirit, and will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. He/she will imitate God, as a dearly loved child and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. There will not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Thank you God for leading us in the way that brings us closer to You, Amen.

Standing in the Gap Day 14- Responsibility




Father God, we know nothing in all creation is hidden from Your sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before Your eyes and we must give account. It is required that (Name) must prove faithful in the things you have given him/her to do. I declare, (Name) will be trustworthy, honest and responsible in all ways. When he/she is required to give an account to You, (Name) will hear ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

Standing in the Gap Day 13- Wisdom

Heavenly Father, Your Word says there is nothing more precious than wisdom. I desire wisdom for (Name) today. S/he holds you in high esteem, Lord, and that fear is the beginning of wisdom. Teach (Name) knowledge and good judgement all the days of his/her life. I say that whether (Name) turns to the right or to the left, s/he will hear a voice behind him/her saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Whenever (Name) is unsure and in need of wisdom, I declare that he/she will ask you, God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and wisdom will be given to him/her. Standing in the Gap Day 12- Courage



God, you said “do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” I declare that (Name) will turn to you and say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” When s/he faces trials, I decree, (Name) will approach Your throne of grace with confidence, so that s/he will receive mercy and find grace to help in his/her time of need. (Name) will live by the Spirit you have given him/her which does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Standing in the Gap Day 11- Peacemaker



God, you are peace and Your Word says “blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” I decree that (Name) will be a peacemaker. S/he will not repay anyone evil for evil, but will do what is right in the eyes of all people. As far as it depends on (Name) s/he will live at peace with everyone and will not take revenge. I declare (Name) will leave room for You Lord to avenge and repay.


Through Your love and power, (Name) will care for his/her enemies when they are hungry or thirsty. I claim in the name of Jesus that (Name) will not be overcome by evil, but will overcome evil with good. S/he will be a peacemaker who sows in peace and reaps a harvest of righteousness. Amen.

Standing in the Gap Day 10- Love the Word



It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’. You Lord, have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. By living according to your word a young person will stay on the path of purity. Keep (Name) from deceitful ways; Turn his/her heart toward Your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

Consume (Name)s soul with a longing for scripture. Be gracious to (Name) and teach him/her your law. Open (Name)s eyes that s/he may see wonderful things in your Word.

I declare (Name) will delight in Your statutes. When his/her soul is weary s/he will be strengthened according to your word and it will become his/her counselor.

You God, thwart the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. You catch the wise in their craftiness, and sweep away the schemes of the wily. I declare God, craftiness, schemes and secrets will not be part of (Name)s life. I say that all things done in secret, regarding (Name), will be made known. Heavenly Father, Your Word says Jesus has called (Name) as a friend and you will make everything known to him/her. Today, God, teach (Name) to love others, the way You love them. Teach him/her to choose friends carefully. 

I decree all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander and every form of malice would be gone from (Name)s life. Your Word says, righteousness and wickedness have nothing in common, therefore, (Name) will not be yoked together with unbelievers. When (Name) is in contact with unbelievers, s/he will be a witness of Your love and glory. I say (Name) will treat others the way s/he wants to be treated. I declare (Name) will stand on Your strength to love his/her enemies and pray for those who persecute him/her.


Lord, only You know who (Name) will be in relationship with and I trust You to only allow people in his/her life that will bring You glory. I claim Your hand, wisdom and guidance in all of (Name) relationships. Today I ask for Your Presence in the lives of (Name)s, current and future, friends, teachers, coaches, family and spouse. Abba Father, Your Word says it is right for children to obey their parents in the Lord. Today, I decree that (Name) will always honor his/her father and mother so that it may go well with him/her and s/he may enjoy a long life on earth. I pray that I would not exasperate my children; instead, I will bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. I claim that (Name) will be known for his/her obedience. I declare, s/he will be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. I decree that (Name) will be blessed in what s/he does because s/he listens to the Word and does what it says. Standing in the Gap Day 4- Character


Almighty God, Your Word says, a good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Please place that desire into (Name/s) heart today. Enable me to teach my child/ren that the idea and definitions of good character come from Your Word, not from the world. I decree (Name/s) will grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man. I say that all people will know (Name/s) as a person of noble character. I pray, s/he will stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult. And when s/he seems to be standing alone, Father, (Name/s) will feel Your presence and Your strength.


God, I claim, when s/he suffers for his/her beliefs, s/he will be glad, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because Your love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. In the Precious name of Jesus, Amen.

This morning I was reminded of a message I heard this summer. Pastor Daniels impressed upon me the importance of praying for and blessing our children. She said, while it is important to pray for them, it is edifying for our children to hear us pray for them, it increases their security to hear us go to God on their behalf and to thank God for them being part of our family. I decided that I will pray these prayers over my children tonight before I tuck them in. What do you think?

Prayer:

God, Creator of all things, I praise You for blessing me with (Name/s). I pray his/her identity as Your child and Your handiwork would be impressed on his/her heart today. Help (Name/s) to know that You have called him/her by name and that s/he Yours. I decree, (Name/s) would always know, we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Your special possession, that we may declare Your praises. 

Thank you for making (Name/s) into a new creation; free and made alive, through Christ. I declare,  s/he would always know that You have made him/her more than conquerors and that s/he is marked with a seal; Your promised Holy Spirit. 

I claim, (Name/s) identity would come from being a co-heir with Christ, not from what the world deems important. I pray s/he would know full well that s/he is perfectly, fearfully and wonderfully made; and that your works are wonderful. Standing in the Gap Day 2- Protection



El Shaddai, Your Word says, 
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High 
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.


LORD, You are my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.


I believe that You will save (Name/s) from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly hazards.


Thank you for covering him/her with Your feathers,
under Your wings s/he will find refuge;
Your faithfulness will be his/her shield and rampart.


A thousand may fall around (name)
but harm will not come near him/her.
S/he will watch from the distance
and see the punishment of the wicked.


I decree that nothing will overtake him/her,

Standing in the Gap Day 1- Salvation

The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16b






Thank you Heavenly Father for the gift of saving grace. I believe that it is only through Your Son, Jesus, that we are saved. Empower me to be a good example of what it is like to follow Jesus. Today, I pray for (name/s). The hour has come for my children to wake up from their slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. I declare that my kids would accept Jesus as their Savior and I decree that they would always have a heart to follow you. They will delight in You and their soul will always rejoice in You our God. Your Word says that "through faith we are shielded by Your power until the coming salvation". I claim that power today for (name/s), in the Precious Name of Our Savior Jesus, Amen.
