The title I carry that matters most is daughter of the King. Beyond that, I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend. For so long I did not understand that God wanted a relationship with me. I thought that it was enough to go to church on Sunday and be a good person the rest of the time. But then, I found out that Jesus desires to be my friend and this information changed my life. I wanted to know more about my new friend and I wanted to be a good friend to Him. Reading the Bible gave me insight into his character and I was hooked. The more time I spend with my friend Jesus, the more he rubs off on me... I become like him and that is a good thing.
I'm praying that the rubbing off will work in other areas too. My husband did not marry me for my cooking. Truth be told, I married him for his cooking (and many other wonderful qualities). He is a professional firefighter for the city of Detroit, an instructor for Michigan State University an exercise junkie and my best friend. We recently celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary and while it hasn't been easy, it has been good. I love learning about him and discovering new things to do together. I recently started running so that we would have another activity in common (apparently exercise is good for me).
We have a precious daughter, you will know her as Little Miss. She is seven and while she looks sweet, there is a strong woman inside of her. She has her dad's athletic ability and my passion for art. I pray that she will have a deeper faith and passion for God than I have.
Mr. D is our five year old warrior. He has the heart of King David, he loves to make up songs and daily sings to me. Although he is all boy, he is my cuddle-bug and I cherish those quiet times. I pray that I will be able to teach him without squashing his spirit.
For you my dear friend and sister in Christ. This is my prayer for you: Abba Father, thank you for my sweet friend. Thank you for bringing our paths together for a season. Please God, give her the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that she may know you better. Enlighten her to know the hope you have called her to and the power available to her. God, strengthen her through Your Spirit, so she may grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. I ask that this love would surpass all knowledge and that she would be filled to the measure with all the fullness of God. Now to You who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us, to You be glory in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 1 and 3)
The door is always open, please stop by and visit anytime. Thank you for spending time with us. I pray that I will be His vessel to bring you closer to Him.
Hugs and Abundant Blessings,
Lynnette
